A scene from Riverside Hospital - “Typhoid Mary’s hospital” - out on North Brother Island, in the Bronx. A quarantine island for many years, numerous structures were constructed. One of them, the Boys’ Dormitory, contained a library. When the island was abandoned, apparently most of the bookshelves were worth salvaging; the books - not so much.
