Ok, this has been sitting in here forever, so let’s do a quick summary of Princes in general.
Princes are a very powerful class - their ability to destroy their Aspect or destroy with it gives them a lot of flexibility and different ways to do damage. A Prince in full control of his powers would be a formidable warrior, capable of smashing through enemies and leveling anything that gets in his way.
Unfortunately, Princes’ power comes at a price. Princes often turn their classpect on themselves. Dirk shatters his own identity to the point where he can’t stand himself. Eridan gives up hope that he can stand against the ‘lord of all angels’. What’s more, Princes turn their powers on those they care about. Dirk manages to not only wreck his relationship with Jake but put the entire Alpha session on the rocks (although it wasn’t a solo effort by any means). Eridan kills Feferi, who he claimed to love (YMMV on that one). Kurloz deafened and now manipulates his former matesprit, and it’s implied he has more control than is healthy over his moirail as well.
Princes often end up set apart from their group, whether because of their own actions or because they just seem a little different. This often only helps them damage themselves and everyone else more.
We have yet to see a Prince fully pull himself together, gain control over his classpect, and manage to use it only for good while taking care of himself. I’m sure it’s possible - it seems unfair to make a class always spell someone’s ruin - but it’s difficult. The power to destroy is, well, destructive. If you make your class a weapon, it’s going to hurt.
