Honestly I think peridot is pretty cool and we haven’t really seen enough of her character (her side of the story) to accurately judge her. Her actions have been bad, I admit that, but think about how homeworld raises gems. Not only that but peridot is the youngest of the homeworld gems and likely younger than any gem shown besides steven (shown through her not knowing about the war/being afraid of the destabilizer). I like that she shows its ok to run away.
